>>Massaging<<
You know those days and times when you feel if you could get your muscles to function easier? If you could just loosen up you could do the tasks at hand a whole lot better. If only you had greater mobility. Well horses have these very same muscle issues except on a grander scale. Your trusty equine friend sometimes gets ridden all day, sometimes very strenuous, then gets put up or out for the night. Whatever the purpose your horse is used, he will perform better and be more durable with proper muscle care.
When you think of how much better you perform with more freedom of movement, relate that to your horse. The horse's muscles are many and are complex. From superficial muscles to the ones layered deeper beneath, each one has a unique function. Everyday they use them above and beyond normal use at our beckoning call. At the spur of a moment, anytime of day, we ask them to perform and to perform well. Once a horse starts favoring a sore muscle, if not taken care of, can lead to muscle issues in other areas.
Equine massaging may or may not be at the top of most people’s list when it comes to caring for their horse, but since having seen and experienced the results of massage therapy, we have placed it high on ours.
Our equine massage is performed with our hands only. We use no mechanical devices or tools. In doing so, we feel we get a better read on any issues the horse may have. We also find that the human touch gives the horse more comfort and creates a better trust between it and the therapist. That being said, let us say that we have nothing against other massage techniques, devices, tools, etc: and we do not argue against them. It’s just that for us, we feel very comfortable and confident in our hands on massage therapy.
Massage therapy on people has been around a long time and has benefited many. Most people that have had a massage will tell you they are more relaxed and happier afterwards. We know without a doubt, that a horse with well-conditioned muscles and more freedom of movement, will have a far better opportunity to reach greater levels of performance than the one that struggles with muscle issues.
Reiki Energy Therapy with Massage
By incorporating Reiki with the Equine Massage Therapy, it brings the horse to a better and more relaxed personality and they tend to become more attentive. This directly affects his concentration level, which in turn increases his learning potential.
Reiki can also be beneficial to the rider for similar reasons. It helps center the rider both on a physical and emotional level. Just as mentioned in regards to the horse, Reiki provides a solid learning foundation with which to grow. It is a known fact that learning is best done under non-stressful conditions. A centered, focused, and balanced rider is as essential as a well-balanced horse. Check our Reiki Page for more detailed information.
